A woman, referred to by police as the "Looteri Dulhan" or looting bride, has been arrested after a decade of deceiving men and collecting a total of ₹1.25 crore from them in the guise of settlement. Seema, also known as Nikki, a resident of Uttarakhand, first married a businessman from Agra in 2013. After a short time, she filed a case against his family and received ₹75 lakh as part of a settlement.
In 2017, Seema married a software engineer from Gurugram and later secured ₹10 lakh as a settlement after their separation.
In 2023, Seema married a Jaipur-based businessman but soon fled with ₹36 lakh worth of jewellery and cash. Following the family's complaint, the Jaipur Police arrested her.
Police investigation revealed that Seema targeted her victims through matrimonial websites, typically choosing men who were divorced or widowed. Over her multiple marriages in different states, she managed to collect ₹1.25 crore through various settlement claims.
